Why PR Professionals highly recommend Instagram

Updated: Jun 19, 2022

Technology. Internet.Social media.Apps.

I was born in a time when no one knew what an app was to the evolution of social media and its mega popularity. One may say the creation of apps was to make our lives easier and more organized, and in many ways, they do. Apps can help make work more efficient, especially for public relations professionals constantly juggling clients, clips, and collaboration.

Instagram is a free social media platform that was established in 2010 and is available on mobile devices and desktop computers. The social media platform allows you to create your profile, personal or business, while sharing videos and pictures of your choice while gaining followers and prospective consumers.

To anyone that has used Instagram before I'm sure you know the app is highly addictive. More than 1 Billion people use the app every month. This is a PR professional area of pure opportunity. Instagram's PR stats are in and it shows that 83% of its users discover new products everyday and 81% use the platform to search for new services or products. If that doesn't tell you anything it should tell you that you should brand on instagram its almost guarantee consumer engagement if targeted correctly.

Instagram provides a window into the inner life of your company, allowing you to connect on a more personal level. Stories can give followers an inside look at your company's culture and people.PR and social media are based on communication but social media, with its real-time messaging, amplifies your message, allowing PR to be stronger and more impactful. Content published via news releases, emails, and other PR related means can live longer, spread faster and reach further with the help of social media.

Instagram allows you to connect with your audience on a personal level giving them access to the inner life of your company. Instagram also creates algorithms which in my opinion makes things easier and conquers chaos the bad thing about instagram is that it recently changed its algorithmic timeline from chronological format to trying to calculate what you like best. People who partially rely on their Instagram traffic pleaded wo have push notifications for their posts.

Nonetheless consumers are spending more time on their phones, and if there is one thing stats show is that your brand should be on Instagram!
